On April 10, Nguyen Van Cuong, Director of Bang Duong Investment Building Trading Co., Ltd (joint venture of BCG), said the project under BOT (build – operate – transfer), namely interstate BOT 830 (from An Thanh bridge to Duc Hoa town – Long An), will be in pilot for 30 days since April 15.
The tolls shall start from 30,000 - 160,000 VND/vehicle. In addition, vehicles of 30 seats and less of non-business owners who currently resides in communes between 2 toll booths shall be exempt. Businesses located along the toll road will pay once for their vehicles and shall receive 20% discount.
The first BOT project of Long An will be pilot since April 15.

According to Daily Traffic Volume Data provided by a local consulting firm, it is determined that the volume of vehicles in this road which was around 4,500 - 4,700 vehicles per day. Based on the result, the tolls shall be collected for 18 years.
The BOT 830 project was approved by the People's Committee of Long An in 2016 with the total investment of VND 1,079 billion. As designed, the road length is 24km with 4 lanes including road separators and in-road lights have been installed for the entire road stretch. Also, eight bridges have been newly built. The road speed limit is 80km/h and 60 km/h as fastest speed limit in urban area.
The toll road will start at the junction of Duc Hoa town to Hau Nghia or Ben Luc. This is also the connecting point between provincial road DT 824 and Tran Van Giau Road (Provincial Road 10) of Ho Chi Minh City. There will be two toll booths, one in An Thanh (Ben Luc), and one in Duc Hoa (Huu Thanh).
According to the investor, the project aims to improve quality of interstate 830 for better transportation between key industrial zones in Long An Province, and from HCM City to provinces in Mekong Delta, sharing the overload pressure for the gateway route of the southern key economic zone.
Representative of Long An Department of Transport said interstate 830 is the first road in Long An invested under BOT. In addition, other roads and ports are being considered to invest under BOT or BT to develop industrial zones and residential areas along National Highway 1A, Trung Luong expressway.
“Interstate 830 is not the only road from Ben Luc to Duc Hoa. Everyone can have other choices such as interstate 816. However, interstate 816 is quite narrow with only 5.5-7m of road width and only vehicles under 8 tons allowed on bridges in this route", said a representative of Department of Transport.
