On September 7th, 2020, Skylar Joint Stock Company – a subsidiary of BCG Energy Joint Stock Company signed a contract to install solar rooftop energy with a total capacity of 5.55 MW on Freetrend Industrial A Co., Ltd. in Industrial Zone In Linh Trung Export Processing zone.
This is the first contract signed in a bond package of 19.5 MW solar rooftop system installation. The entire project in the 19.5 MW package is expected to COD by the end of 2020.

Rooftop solar is a new model with great potential for development in the future. According to statistics of Vietnam Electricity (EVN), as of July 31, 2020, Vietnam has developed 42,694 Solar rooftop energy systems, with a total capacity of 917 MW. Also in the first 7 months of the year, the total electricity generated onto the grid was more than 300 million kWh. Compared to the number of 377.9 MW installed before December 31, 2019, it is noticeable that in the past 7 months, rooftop energy sector has sharply increased.
Therefore, this signing presented significant meanings as regards to the vision of BCG Energy in the renewable energy sector. BCG Energy has signed several contracts for solar rooftop installation with total portfolio capacity up to nearly 100MW. The Company set target to complete 500 MW of solar rooftop energy in the period 2020 – 2024.
The supply and installation of 5.55 MW solar rooftop energy in Linh Trung Export Processing Zone is also a great opportunity for BCG Energy because this is one of the most successful industrial park in Vietnam with good reputation with Asian investors. Export net of area in 2020 reached more than 2% of the total export net of the country, creating 1/10 of the total job opportunities from the foreign investment sector.
