Phu My solar farm is developed by Clean Energy Vision Development JSC – a subsidiary of BCG Energy – held its groundbreaking ceremony in My An and My Thang towns, Phu My ward, Binh Dinh province on 29th May 2020. This is the largest solar farm in Binh Dinh province whose the total investment is accounted for over 6.200 billion VND and the total land area is 380 ha. Project’s total designed capacity is 330 MW which is divided in to 2 phases including 3 plants with the total capacity of 120 MW, 110 MW and 100 MW.
It has been only 7 months of construction from 5/29/2020 to 12/31/2020, 216 MW out of 330 MW total capacity of Phu My solar power plant was successfully put into COD. The remaining 114 MW is expected to reach COD before February 28th of 2021. Officially COD on 31th December 2020 means this first 216 MW will get the FIT price of 7,09 US cent/kWh according to Decision 13/2020/QD-TTg. When the whole plant is fully operational, 520 million kWh of electricity is expected to generated annually which is equivalent to the total electricity consumption of 200.000 households. Moreover, this will help offset roughly 146.000 ton of CO2 emission per year.
The whole construction progressed during the worldwide outbreak of Covid-19 which led to some serious difficulties. Despite that, with high determination, BCG Energy overcame all difficulties to even surpass the initial plan of COD 129 MW and incredibly delivered 216 MW. This is a solid proof to Bamboo Capital Group’s strong capability to implement projects along with BCG Energy and other subsidiaries.
While being shortage of power, having such a large-scale solar farm like Phu My to operate will contribute a stable power source to the national power grid which benefits production and business activities of enterprises along with the development of society. Besides, the project will also contribute to the government’s budget and create thousands of jobs for local workers in Binh Dinh province. As a result, it will improve the citizen’s life quality, social security and also the environmental issues.
